Dhaka, Bangladesh: Prime Minister Narendra Modi called on Bangladesh President Abdul Hamid and discussed a host of bilateral issues on Sunday.
"A warmth that brings two neighbours together. PM @narendramodi and President Abdul Hamid confer at Bangabhawan (residence of the President)," Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Vikas Swarup tweeted along with a picture of PM Modi and President Hamid during their discussion.
President Hamid also hosted a lunch in Prime Minister Modi's honour with Premier Sheikh Hasina also present.
Besides the call-on, PM Modi also met a host of leaders from across the political and business spectrum.
Leader of the Opposition Begum Raushan Ershad called on PM Modi while he also met with Presidents of leading Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Bangladesh to strengthen business links between the two countries.
PM Modi also met leaders of Bangladesh's left-wing parties.
