New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday greeted the people of Tajikistan on their Independence Day.
The prime minister in his message said: "...My greetings to the people of Tajikistan. India and Tajikistan are actively working to further strengthen their ties in agriculture, connectivity, trade and defence."
India shares deep historical and cultural links with Tajikistan, he added.
On September 9, 1991, Tajikistan declared its independence from the disintegrating Soviet Union.
