New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today handed over the Bangladesh Liberation War Honour to the family members of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, an official statement said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today "handed over the Bangladesh Liberation War Honour to the family members of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee - Ranjan Bhattacharya, Namita Bhattacharya, and Niharika Bhattacharya", a statement from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) said.
External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj was also present on the occasion.
PM Modi had received the honour on behalf of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, during his recent visit to Bangladesh.
Bangladesh conferred the award on Mr Vajpayee for his contribution to the South Asian nation's fight for liberation from Pakistan.
