Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached the sports complex of Faridabad, where he is addressing a public meeting. The function is also being attended by Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu.
At the HUDA Ground at Faridabad's Sector 12, the crowd chanted "Modi Modi" as the Prime Minister arrived on the Badarpur-Mujesar Metro Line he inaugurated in the morning.
Addressing the crowds ahead of the Prime Minister, Mr Naidu said a metro line for Faridabad - an important city and an industrial hub -- was pending.
PM Modi, he said, was ushering in development across the country.
"Yesterday you saw how for so many years the our soldiers have been asking for OROP (the implementation of the One Rank One Pension Scheme) Yesterday, OROP was announced," he added.
The extension of the Delhi Metro connects Badarpur to Escorts Mujesar in Faridabad. It will allow around two lakh daily commuters to commute between the national capital and the industrial hub in Haryana.
