Sardar Patel, also remembered as 'Iron Man of India', played a major role in the country's Independence struggle and subsequently guided its integration into a united, independent nation.
Mr Patel was born on October 31, 1875 in Gujarat's Nadiad town. He died on December 15, 1950.
