New Delhi: Amid uproar in the Rajya Sabha, PM Modi addressed the Upper House today after the Lok Sabha witnessed the government and the opposition go head-to-head in a debate on Tuesday. The Rajya Sabha was adjourned sine die after PM's address.
PM Modi replied to the debate on the motion of thanks to the President's address and took repeated jibes at the Congress. He said the party should accept the verdict of people and BJP-led NDA had won its third successive term in office.
Yesterday, Lok Sabha witnessed unprecedented chaos as the prime minister was seen shouting while Opposition MPs screamed to drown out his voice. The PM targeted Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi during his over two-hour long speech in the Lok Sabha and dismissed his fiery speech, just a day ago, as "'balak buddhi' (childish behaviour)".
As the opposition's sloganeering ramped up, the Prime Minister continued. "I can understand the pain of some people... even after spreading lies they tasted defeat. People of India have given us the opportunity to work for the third time... have given us a mandate," he said.

"Every time something goes wrong, the Dalit and backward class leaders have to bear the brunt of it while the family escaped unharmed. This has been Congress's attitude. They knew they would lose the Lok Sabha Speaker elections but they still nominated a Dalit leader. In 2017, they knew they would be defeated yet Meera Kumar's name was put out. They disrespected ex President Ram Nath Kovind and have left no stone unturned to insult the first Dalit woman President of this country," PM Modi said.

They have disregarded the oath they took. Sitting in this chair, I am hurt to see such disrespect to the Constitution. They have made a joke of the Constitution.
