New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today released a compilation book on CRPF martyrs on the occasion of the national police commemoration day today.
The book chronicles the life and heroics of over 2,000 gallant men and women of the Central Reserve Police Force who have made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty over these years.
Senior officers of the country's largest paramilitary force led by CRPF Director General Prakash Mishra handed over the copies of the book titled 'warriors Remembered' to the PM.
PM Modi, during the annual conference of the DGPs last year, had desired that every police force compile the acts of bravery of its officers and men so that they can inspire future generations.
An official statement issued said a copy of the book would be presented to the family member of every martyr by CRPF formations across the country.
The force has about 3-lakh personnel under its command and is deployed for rendering a variety of duties in the internal security domain of the country including combating Naxals, insurgents and militants.
