PM Modi Concludes 5-Day US Visit, Leaves for India

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today concluded his two-nation tour of Ireland and the US, and has left for India.

In Dublin, PM Modi issued a joint statement with his Irish counterpart Enda Kenny and addressed the Indian diaspora. In New York, PM Modi held meeting with top CEOs and world leaders.

He made a strong pitch for a global partnership for sustainable development at his UN General Assembly address. After a score of meetings with tech giants in Silicon Valley, he is back to New York to meet US President Barack Obama in the last leg of the US visit.

  • We need to recruit for the protection of the civilians. Innocent people are caught in crossfire like in South Sudan. We also have to candidly admit, and I'll be clear on that, we have to stop the abuse of civilians by peacekeepers. We have to agree on zero tolerance on this.
  • We need to conduct more peacekeeping operations. We also need more women in peacekeeping operations.
