Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Friday that countless wishes to him on his birthday have left him humbled and overwhelmed beyond words, and have given him strength to work even harder for the nation.
Thanking those who wished him on his 71st birthday, he said, "Our shared journey continues...there is much to be done. We will not rest till we have achieved our dream of a strong, prosperous and inclusive India...the India our freedom fighters devoted their lives for. Jai Hind."
In a series of tweets, PM Modi also noted the record COVID-19 vaccine doses administered on Friday and said that every Indian would be proud of the record numbers.
Over two crore COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the country so far today, as part of the efforts by the Centre to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 71st birthday. Besides, the BJP has also planned a 20-day event to mark his "20 years in public service"
Leaders from across the country, including from the BJP and even opposition parties, greeted the prime minister who turned 71 today.
This is for the first time the daily vaccination figure has touched the 2-crore mark. It had crossed the one-crore mark only thrice before today, according to PTI.
Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya had Thursday called for a major push to the vaccination drive during PM Modi's birthday, saying it would be the perfect gift for him. The BJP had asked its units across the country to help get a large number of people vaccinated on the occasion.
Besides, several other events were also organised across the country to mark the birthday of the prime minister.

Over 2 crore coronavirus vaccine doses have been administered to people in the country so far today, as part of efforts by the Centre to mark the 71st birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
