PM Modi's Morphed Photo Lands Karnataka Man In Jail
Mohammed Mehboob has been arrested for posting a morphed photo of PM Modi on Facebook
Bangalore: A morphed photo of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has landed a 25-year-old man in jail in Karnataka.

Mohammed Mehboob, a jewellery shop employee, was arrested last night in Koppal in north Karnataka after a complaint by a BJP worker. He had allegedly posted the photo on his Facebook page on May 7.

He has been charged with "promoting enmity between different groups."

The photo shows PM Modi touching the feet of senior BJP leader LK Advani, on whom the figure of Akbaruddin Owaisi has been morphed.

Akbaruddin Owaisi is the brother of Hyderabad parliamentarian Asaduddin Owaisi.

Mehboob claims that he did not morph the picture and that his friends sent it.

Last month, a journalist landed in trouble after he tweeted another morphed version of the same picture. The photo was touched up to make it seem that the prime minister is touching the feet of the Saudi king. The BJP filed a police complaint.
