New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today surprised many when he decided to wield the camera at a formal interaction with journalists in the national capital, his first since coming to power in May.
While the BJP's official photographer at the party headquarter was busy clicking pictures of the Prime Minister who waded into the crowd of journalists scrambling to take 'selfies' with him, the 64-year-old Mr Modi suddenly stopped to say it was now his turn to take a picture of him.
"This was a big Deepwali surprise for me... he took a very nice picture of me... I'll frame it and put it up in my house," a beaming Ajay Kumar Singh told NDTV.
The Prime Minister later posed for a photograph with him.
Earlier, the PM addressed a gathering of over 400 journalists at 9, Ashoka Road, adjoining the BJP headquarters. The event, called 'Deepawali Milan', was attended by BJP president Amit Shah, senior ministers and party leaders.
After his short address, Mr Modi interacted freely with journalists, shaking hands and smilingly posing for 'selfies'.
