PM Narendra Modi Expresses Grief Over Uttar Pradesh Train Accident

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today expressed grief over the loss of lives in the train accident in Uttar Pradesh.

"PM Modi has expressed grief on the loss of lives in the train accident in UP and has wished the injured a speedy recovery," the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) said.

Mr Modi has asked Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu to closely monitor the situation and ensure speedy relief and assistance at the spot, the PMO added.

Over 30 people were killed and around 150 others injured when the engine and two adjoining coaches of the Dehradun-Varanasi Janta Express derailed near Bachrawan Railway Station in Rae Bareli in Uttar Pradesh.

Thirty two people have died and over 50 were injured as two coaches of the Dehradun-Varanasi Janta Express derailed in Rae Bareli district OF Uttar Pradesh.

The accident took place around 9.10 on Friday morning as the train was coming to a stop at the Bachhrawan railway station - 30 km from Rae Bareli.
