Prime Minister Narendra Modi today greeted the nation on the occasion of Navratri. "Navratri greetings to everyone... On the first day of Navratri, we pray to Maa Shailputri," PM Modi tweeted.
The nine-day-long festival is dedicated to goddess Durga. Each day, the nine forms of the goddess are worshipped.
The festival will conclude on September 30 with the Dussehra celebrations.
