PM Narendra Modi Launches 3 Mega Schemes for Urban Areas: Highlights

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke at an event to mark the launch of three mega schemes aimed at transforming urban India - Smart Cities Mission, Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) and Housing For All.

• Nobody can forget June 25-26 when the nation was turned into a jail and bound with chains of Emergency for lust of power, 40 years back.
• 40 years later, we want to preserve the dreams under which all citizens prosper under a democratic system.
• Our decision to set up a memorial for Jayaprakash Narayan will always inspire those who love democracy.
• We cannot get disheartened thinking the world is ahead of us and that we can't match the world.
• We are sitting together to discuss how to improve life in the cities
• It would have been better had we considered urbanisation as an opportunity.
• Take Chhattisgarh, they have done good work towards making the state free from open defecation.
• Every person dreams of having his or her own home. It is not merely about a roof and four walls, it is beyond that.
