Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off 'Run for Rio' from Delhi's Major Dhyanchand National Stadium today morning.
The mass run was announced by the Sports Minister Vijay Goel at a press conference. He said around 20,000 school children are expected to participate in the event.
The event is organised in order to celebrate the Olympic mood in the country.The run, which will be flagged off at 8 am, will start at the National Stadium at India Gate and conclude at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Lodhi Road.
Vijay Goel, who had also visited the venue to review the preparations of the event, tweeted:
