New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants NGOs to write to him about their experiences in helping battle drug addiction, a topic he plans to highlight in his third radio address to the country, likely to be held within a month.
"I invite you to share your views on the issue of mitigating the menace of drugs. If you worked in this area, please share your experiences," the PM tweeted this morning. "I call upon NGOs that are working on this to share their experiences as well," he added.
Early last month, Mr Modi delivered his first radio speech, vowing to talk to the country every alternate Sunday at 11 am. He plans to use his radio addresses to mobilise support among ordinary people for his agenda of change.
His speeches will be translated in 24 local languages to reach the millions who live in rural India and do not have access to television.
In the last speech that he delivered, Mr Modi said he is committed to bringing back black or untaxed money hidden by Indians abroad. The issue of funds illegally deposited in banks outside the country to avoid tax were a major part of his party's campaign for the election that he swept in May.
The Prime Minister has been urging people to share comments, ideas and topics that they want him to address. "Do keep sharing your ideas on the MyGov Open Forum. I will read them & share some of them during the Radio programme," he tweeted recently.
