New Delhi: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has decided to attend the climate change summit in Copenhagen this month. Dr Singh will be there on December 17, the second last day of the summit.

The Prime Minister's decision comes after Minister for Environment Jairam Ramesh announced that India will cut carbon intensity by 20 -25%.

Last week, the Prime Minister met French President Nicolas Sarkozy and UN Chief Ban Ki Moon among others at the Commonwealth summit in the Port of Spain. Despite the pressure, the government has reiterated that India will never accept any legally binding emission cuts.
