PM tries to set the record straight
New Delhi:

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh who's often said to be more of a technocrat than a politician, tried to set the record straight once and for all.

Speaking to editors at the end of his government's 5 years, PM Manmohan Singh said, heading the UPA  coalition he has dealt with the Left, SP's Mulayam Singh, Lalu Yadav, PDP, Jayalalithaa and managed many political relations.

He also said that he's not new to politics, but has a been a politician since he was Finance Minister in 1991.

On his equation with Sonia Gandhi, the Prime minister said there is a clear distribution of roles between them and this arrangement works very well.

He also said he always felt Rahul Gandhi had the qualities to become a PM and he stands by it.

And talking about the economic downturn, the prime minister said there are hopes that the global economy will turn around by September.
