New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today called President Pranab Mukherjee an "invaluable asset to our nation" on his birthday.
"President Mukherjee's long years in public life make him an invaluable asset to our nation. His wisdom and intelligence have few parallels," PM Modi tweeted.
"I convey my heartfelt wishes to our beloved president... I pray for his long and healthy life."
"Pranab Da has always been a respected leader, with friends and well-wishers across the political spectrum," the Prime Minister said in a series of tweets.
President Mukherjee was born in West Bengal's Mirati village as son of freedom fighters, Kamada Kinkar Mukherjee and Rajlakshmi on December 11, 1935.
