New Delhi:

Could the ice between India and Pakistan be broken as early as next week? Reports now suggest that there could be a meeting between Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Pakistan President Asif Zardari in Russia on June 15.

If it takes place, it will be on the sidelines of a meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation or SCO.

The meeting will be the first encounter between the two since the Mumbai attacks, and Pakistan has been pushing for a bilateral in Russia although India is still undecided.

But earlier on Tuesday the PM had some tough words for Pakistan. Addressing Parliament Dr Manmohan Singh said that Pakistan needed to take swift, strong action against terror and bring the 26/11 Mumbai attackers to justice.

"It is in our vital interest to make peace with Pakistan but it takes two hands to clap. There are some disturbing trends but I do hope that the government of Pakistan will create an atmosphere through which we realise this wish," said Dr Manmohan Singh, Prime Minister.
