Poachers shot dead in Kaziranga

Kaziranga: Around 2 am this morning four poachers were shot dead in an encounter with the forest staff at Kaziranga National Park in an area with high rhino concentration.

Kaziranga is one of the most successful rhino conservation parks and has the highest density of tigers in the country today, however, it has been under tremendous pressure due to poaching for the past few years. It has been an active centre in the wildlife trade racket.
