Hisar:
Dalit protesters were lathicharged in Haryana's Hisar district today after their agitation turned violent. The Dalits were protesting outside the District Collector (DC) office.
They tried to manhandle the DC and damage his vehicle.
The Dalits were protesting against bail to some of the accuse in the Mirchpur murder incident.
On April 21 last year, a Dalit man and his physically challenged daughter were burnt alive in violence against the community, allegedly by upper caste member. The incident forced about 150 families to flee Mirchpur village in Hisar.
The protesters were also demanding construction of their brunt houses.
