Badaun, Uttar Pradesh: A policeman was killed and another injured by members of a family when they went to stop loud music being played by a Disc Jockey (DJ) in Bilsi area, police said today.
Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP), Munnalal said that last night policemen posted at Risauli Police outpost received a call from Ghadauli village that one Jagatpal was playing loud music.
The policemen Mohd Faheem and Bhimsen went to stop the DJ. Irked by this, Jagatpal and his family members allegedly attacked the two policemen with spade, axe and sticks.
The two policemen, who sustained serious injuries in the attack, were taken to a medical college where Mohd Faheem died, the ASP said.
He said that Mr Bheemsen has been admitted to a hospital.
Mr Munnalal said that a First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged against Jagatpal, his wife, son and two daughters, who are absconding.
