Yesterday, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal thanked PM Narendra Modi for following him on Twitter.
New Delhi:
It would be fair to say that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are not known for getting along. But Holi and Twitter have intersected to lighten the mood - even if just for a bit.
Yesterday, the PM, who has nearly 19 million followers on Twitter, began following Mr Kejriwal, who responded with a public acknowledgement.
Yesterday, Mr Kejriwal's Deputy, Manish Sisodia, tweeted the PM stating that crucial legislation approved for Delhi is stalled in the union Home Ministry. Please help, Delhi will be indebted, said Mr Sisodia.
According to some media reports, the PM also chose Holi to follow other noted political rivals on Twitter including Rahul Gandhi, big boss of the Congress, and Digvijaya Singh.
The Hindu reported that sources in the Prime Minister's team said the gesture was made "just because of Holi" and the spirit of the festival of colours.

In the past, Mr Kejriwal, 47, has stomped all over political correctness, calling the Prime Minister a "psychopath" and a "coward" and stating unequivocally that he has no regrets about the language he used..@narendramodi Sir, thank u for following me. Happy Holi. आज गिले शिकवे भूलने का दिन है। Hope better Centre-Delhi cooperation in future
