
The election commission is doing its best to ensure free and fair elections. It will be watching every voter, watching every polling booth with an elaborate communication network called Comet - Communication Plan for Election Tracking.
Under a plan called Comet every single polling booth will be in direct contact with the election commission, so that any disturbances can be reported immediately. It's an amazing exercise, with nearly 200 thousand polling booths just a phone all away.
Every booth will have a mobile phone. If there is no mobile coverage, then there will be a landline. If that's not available, then they will have radio sets or walkie-talkies. And if even that's not there, then the age-old technology of runners.
And so, it seems that the world's biggest election, just got a bit bigger!
