Jammu:
There has been a major ceasefire violation in the Krishnaghati sector along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch.
Sources say Pakistani army opened fire on several Indian posts at about 1 am in the night. They used machine guns and fired rockets and mortar shells. The firing went on for nearly three hours.
Sources also told NDTV that the cross-border firing was meant to facilitate infiltration.
There have been several incidents of ceasefire violations along the LoC, particularly in the Krishnaghati sector, over the last couple of weeks. At least six incidents were reported in July alone.
