Positivity Rate Stays At 28% In Delhi, 12,587 New Cases, 31% Drop From Sunday

Delhi today logged 12,587 fresh Covid cases, which is a 31 per cent drop from yesterday's number (18,286). The positivity rate - number of positive cases identified per 100 - stands at 28 per cent. The city also registered 24 Covid deaths.p

The Covid cases in the national capital have seen a marked decline over the last few days.  

On Saturday, Delhi reported 20,718 cases, on Friday it had 24,383 cases, while on Thursday the city logged 28,867 cases.

"First dose of Covid vaccine has been given to 100 per cent of the eligible population in Delhi while both doses have been given to 80 per cent of the targeted people. As many as 1.28 lakh precautionary doses have been administered to senior citizens, frontline workers and healthcare workers," said Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain today.

The active Covid caseload in the city stands at 83,982.

According to government data, 68,275 patients are in home isolation.

There were 44,762 Covid tests conducted in the last 24 hours (which is big drop from the 65,621 tests conducted yesterday), out of which 39,767 were RT-PCR tests while 4,995 were antigen tests.

The containment zones in the city total 34,958.
