Himachal-born Bollywood star Preity Zinta is all set to be the brand ambassador of Himachal Pradesh Tourism.
She has been in touch with state tourism officers for quite sometime and is understood to have expressed her willingness to act as the brand ambassador.
Arun Sharma, Director, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Himachal Pradesh, and Anurag Thakur, member of Lok Sabha from Hamirpur held a meeting with Priety in Mumbai on Saturday to finalise the modalities, sources here said.
A formal declaration about making her the tourism brand ambassador would be made after discussing various issues.
She would be promoting the states theme 'Unforgettable Himachal' and 'A Destination for All Seasons and All Reasons' --both to domestic and foreign tourists, sources added.
Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan, who visited Shimla on November 4 last for the unveiling a 108-feet tall statue of Lord Hanuman, had also expressed his willingness to be the brand ambassador but talks with Preity had reached quite an advanced stage.
Preity is a Himachali and has also featured in the state's coffee table book - Har Ghar Kuchh Kehta Hai - brought out by the tourism department.
