Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today took a jibe at leader of the opposition Prem Kumar Dhumal for claiming that the Congress government in the state would be dethroned before the election.

"Dhumal is not an astrologer to predict how long my government will last," he said and asserted that his government would complete its full term. Talking to media persons after a function at Una, Mr Singh said the Congress government would not only complete its full term but return to power after next assembly elections.

Earlier speaking at a function at Duler in Una constituency, the chief minister said he would welcome constructive criticism and errors pointed out by the opposition but the BJP always indulged in mudslinging and disrupting the House which did not augur well for our democratic polity.

He said that the canalisation of Swan River and its 73 tributaries had proved to be a boon to the people of Una district but the central share had not been given to the state since the last financial year which was delaying the completion of the work.

"I have written to the Prime Minister to fulfil the commitment and provide the remaining funds for undertaking the remaining work of the canalisation of Swan as the state government has already given its share," he said.
