A grand nephew of former President APJ Abdul Kalam today joined the BJP.
APJ Sheikh Salim met BJP president Amit Shah and joined the party, the BJP said.
Mr Salim is the son of a brother of President Kalam, a popular public figure who died of a heart attack in July.
The BJP said Mr Salim joining the party will strengthen the organisation.
