President Pranab Mukherjee was forced to cancel his trip to Jangipur in Murshidabad district today as his helicopter could not take off due to poor visibility, airport sources said.
The president, who arrived at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata after delivering the Indira Gandhi Memorial Lecture at the Asiatic Society today morning, returned to Delhi by a special aircraft as the weather did not improve.
The president was originally scheduled to fly to Jangipur to participate in the closing function of the KK Mukherjee Memorial Football tournament.
