New Delhi: Expressing deep sorrow over the killing of a student from Arunachal Pradesh in Delhi, President Pranab Mukherjee today said every effort should be made to bring the guilty to justice.
"The President has expressed deep sorrow and concern over the sad demise of Nido Taniam, student from Arunachal Pradesh. He condemned the violence which preceded Nido Taniam's demise and called upon law enforcement agencies to make every effort to bring the guilty to justice and ensure the safety and security of all who live in the capital city," a Rashtrapati Bhavan statement said.
Mukherjee said the values and principles of unity in the country should always be adhered to.
"The President said New Delhi is home to people from all parts of the country and the core principle of unity in diversity must always be respected. He called upon all citizens to work hard to strengthen bonds of friendship and amity amongst the diverse communities that constitute our nation," the statement said.
