President Pranab Mukherjee tonight cut short his Odisha visit and will return to the capital as his wife has been reportedly hospitalised following illness.
Official sources said Suvra Mukherjee, who has been ill for some time, has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in a hospital in Delhi.
The President was scheduled to attend a convocation of National Law University at Cuttack.
The President paid performed puja at Puri's Jagannath Temple this morning and later visited Puri beach to see sand sculptures of famous artist Sudarshan Patnaik.
