After a long time, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today held a public darbar at his residence, meeting people from various sections of the society and listening to their grievances and complaints.
Dr Singh met 31 groups representing minorities, NGOs, artists, sportspersons and others for about an hour, sources from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) said.
He received petitions from these groups who came from various states and listened to their grievances and complaints, the sources said.
The groups whose representatives met Dr Singh, included Sarv Samaj Shiksha Welfare Society (Meerut), All Assam Minorities Students Union, Ram Krishna Ashram (Rampur Kalahandi), National Thinkers Forum (Jalandhar), Haryana Pradesh Brahman Samiti, Roller Skating Association of Andhra Pradesh and Chandigarh Territorial Congress Committee.
