Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sought details from officials on preparations for providing electricity to all villages in the country within 1,000 days, the government said today.
The Prime Minister has directed departments concerned to monitor progress towards achieving this goal on a real-time basis, an official statement said.
In his Independence Day address, Mr Modi announced that 18,500 villages which still remain without power would get electricity within 1,000 days.
