The BJP has reacted to NDTV's interview of Home Minister P Chidambaram where he said  a limited mandate on Naxals will no longer work.

"Our party is more concerned after Chidambaram's interview to NDTV. Chidambaram looked like an injured martyr," BJP leader Arun Jaitley said while addressing a press conference in New Delhi.

He also said that Chidambaram's 'limited mandate' comment is a telling commentary on the state of affairs.

"In battle against Maoists, the security apparatus should act with full strength. If government thinks air surveillance is required, we will respect their decision," Jaitley added.

He also demanded that the Prime Minister must clarify the government's anti-Naxal strategy.

"The Prime Minister should end the debate on Maoists, and clear his if government will go all out against Naxals or it will be a half battle," Jaitley said.

Slamming the government's handling of the Naxal situation, Jaitley said, "It seems the UPA is in power but not in control."
