Prime Minister Narendra Modi today strongly condemned the "senseless" killing of Jordanian pilot by ISIS terrorists and said it calls for a concerted global response to the persisting menace of terrorism.
Mr. Modi wrote to King of Jordan Abdullah-II Ibn Al-Hussein, saying he was "deeply shocked and saddened to learn of the brutal killing of Flight Lt Muath al-Kasasbeh.
"This incident is a stark reminder that the persisting menace of terrorism and extremism continues to remain a formidable challenge, calling for a concerted and sustained response from the global community.
We strongly condemn such heinous, senseless and cowardly acts," he wrote.
"In this hour of grief, India stands in solidarity with the bereaved family and the people and Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan," the Prime Minister said.
Earlier this week, Islamic State terrorists displayed the video of the killing of the pilot on outdoor screens in Raqqa.
