Lucknow: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Varanasi on a two-day visit, starting from November 7, during which he is likely to discuss a plan of adopting a village from his constituency under the MP Model Village Scheme.

In the scheme launched last month, the prime minister had said that each MP will take responsibility of developing physical and institutional infrastructure in one village from his constituency by 2016 and three villages by 2019.

This will be PM Modi's first visit to his Lok Sabha constituency since assuming the top post, as part of giving a fillip to its development.

Besides this, the prime minister will also lay a foundation stone for a trade facilitation centre and a crafts museum, and will also inaugurate a trauma centre at the Banaras Hindu University.

"PM Modi during his visit will inaugurate (Banaras hindu University) BHU's Trauma Centre here and will also 'discuss and may choose' a village from his constituency to adopt it under the Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY)," media in-charge of Varanasi as well as of Poorvanchal (Eastern UP) region, Sanjay Bhardwaj had said earlier.

The decision to set up the trade centre and the museum was proposed in the Budget for 2014-15 presented by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in June.

"Tight security arrangements would be made for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's two-day visit to Varanasi, starting from November 7," Inspector General of Police (IG) (public grievances) Ashok Jain today said.

He said that 12 Superintendent of Police (SP) rank officials along with 18 Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), 20 Deputy SP, 135 sub-inspectors, 400 personnel and 17 companies of PAC will be deployed.

Earlier, PM Modi's two-day visit to Varanasi on October 14 and 15 was postponed due to cyclone 'Hudhud'.
