Mumbai: Congress candidate Priya Dutt could not file her nomination on Monday as she arrived late at the election office.
The last date for filing nominations is April 9. Priya will face off with former family friend Mahesh Jethmalani, who is the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from the Mumbai north constituency.
Earlier, Priya made a stop at the Siddhivinayak temple to offer prayers before going to file her nomination for the seat she won in 2004.
Speaking to reporters later, she said her brother Sanjay is by her side. Earlier, Sanjay Dutt had said he will spend most of his time in Lucknow.
This comes a day after her brother Sanjay Dutt refused to campaign for her citing commitments to Samajwadi Party in Lucknow.
