New Delhi:
Delhi Police have initiated an enquiry into a mid-air scuffle between pilots and some crew members of an Air India flight on Saturday. Medical reports have confirmed that the air hostess who filed the case, was assaulted during the incident.
The incident occurred early Saturday when flight IC-884 was cruising over Pakistani territory, in continuation of a verbal exchange between the two sides during a pre-flight briefing ahead of take-off from Sharjah, airline sources said.
Sources have said that a male crew member did not follow set procedure, and was then was pulled up by captain.
An argument followed, when the airhostess intervened. And to coverup, air hostess is making molestation charges, said sources.
The case has been registered under Sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 354 (assault or use of criminal force against a woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 34 (common intention) of IPC.
Meanwhile, Air India has set up a three-member probe to conduct a separate enquiry into the incident on the Sharjah-Lucknow-Delhi flight.
The Airbus A-320 was carrying 106 passengers and seven crew members and had reached Lucknow at 0600 hours on Saturday when the matter was reported.
