Thane: A property dealer in Maharashtra's Thane district was shot dead by two unknown men at his office this afternoon.

The attack was caught on camera by the CCTV at the builder's office.

The video shows two men walk into the property dealer's shop in the district's Ulhasnagar area, pull out a gun and shoot twice at point-blank range.

The property dealer, 50-year-old Sachidanand Kariya, tried to stop the men, but was shot in the abdomen. The attackers then fled from the shop.

Mr Kariya could be seen going out of his office, clutching his stomach. He was then rushed to a hospital where he died.

Mr Kariya had earlier allegedly received a threat call from gangster Ravi Pujari's brother, and had complained to the Thane Police Commissioner and the local Deputy Commissioner of Police.

The gangster also called up local reporters to take responsibility after the shooting.

More details are awaited.
