Kishtwar: A 15-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by a group of four men, including her former teacher in Kuntwara, Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir. A group of people have come together to protest the incident and demand stern action against the rapists. Two accused have been.

The accused abducted the teenager at gunpoint when she was grazing cattle in the field and held her captive for the night, police said. The weapon allegedly belonged to the Village Defence Committee (VDC), a group set-up to protect locals from militants.

The family of the girl have alleged that they were stopped at gunpoint by members of the VDC from filing a police complaint.

A case of abduction and rape has been filed, and the girl has been sent for medical tests, police said.

The two accused were produced before a local court today in Kishtwar and were given 10 days police remand. In her statement before the court, the rape survivor said that she was gagged and then raped by her captors.

Police said a manhunt has been launched and raids are being conducted at several places to arrest the other two accused.
