Sopore, J&K:
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has called an emergency meet to discuss the situation in Sopore.
An indefinite curfew is on in Sopore since Friday evening after two civilians were killed and three injured in Centrtal Reserve Police Force (CRPF) firing.
There is a bandh call across Kashmir valley today. Thousands of protestors came out on the streets of Sopore after the firing took place to break a protest.
The protesters burnt a CRPF gypsy and accused the troops of killing an innocent person.
However, CRPF said its personnel were forced to open fire in Sopore town of Jammu and Kashmir in retaliation to terrorists' fire on its men which left one of its inspectors seriously wounded.
Commenting on today's incident in Sopore in which two persons lost their lives, CRPF Special Director General N K Tripathy said that the mob went on a rampage and burnt vehicles of the para-military force.
"After the second militant was killed, the crowd gathered in huge number. There was a fire from the crowd side, which was retaliated. One person was killed on the spot while another succumbed to injuries in hospital,' he said.
CRPF Inspector Rotash Singh was injured in the fire which came from the mob, and he is in critical condition, he said. (With PTI inputs)
