Ahmedabad: His high-profile rallies are reserved for the rest country, but NDA's prime ministerial candidate L K Advani has little time for his own constituency Gandhinagar.
While he builds the NDA's campaign elsewhere, Gandhinagar is left to the care of his family. His voice, son Jayant, is going door-to-door everyday to meet voters.
"The voting is on April 30. You have to come out and vote for the BJP," Jayant said to a fruit-seller.
Jayant, who is accompanied by Advani's wife Kamla and daughter-in-law Deepika, said, "I am having to fill in for my father."
The family may be trying to fill in for Advani, but Gandhinagar has long reconciled to seeing him more on TV than in person.
