Pulitzer winner Geeta Anand returns to India
Mumbai: Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Geeta Anand whose acclaimed medical investigation, The Cure, has been made into the successful film 'Extraordinary Measures' starring Harrison Ford and Brendan Fraser has moved back to India from the US.

She is currently promoting the paperback edition of her book and spoke to NDTV in an exclusive interview.

The Wall Street Journal reporter spent five years researching and writing her book that tells the poignant tale of how a father starts his own company in a bid to give his two small children, suffering from a rare but potentially fatal muscular disorder called Pompe's Disease, a new life.

"I was learning how to live in the moment and be grateful for each day because this couple didn't know how long their kids would live. They truly enjoyed, celebrated each day. I felt through them, I was learning to appreciate life more," said Geeta.

A former swimming champion, Geeta has now moved back to Mumbai from New York to report on health and environment issues.

"I have always wanted to come back to India and it was exciting to have the opportunity particularly when my kids are still young. So much of my childhood and history are in Mumbai that it has really been fun and exciting being back," she added.
