Sucha Singh Chhotepur (R), sacked by AAP as its Punjab chief, meets MLA Dharamvir Gandhi.

A day after Navjot Singh Sidhu, a former BJP Rajya Sabha MP, took swipes at Punjab's ruling Akali Dal and the AAP at the launch of his new political front Awaaz-e-Punjab, his close aide Pargat Singh on Saturday met with AAP's rebel MP Dr Dharamvir Gandhi at his Patiala residence.

The meeting was followed by veteran politician Sucha Singh Chhotepur, who was sacked by AAP as its Punjab unit chief over bribery allegations, also visiting Dr Gandhi.

Sources say formation of a fourth front in Punjab challenging the ruling Akali-BJP, Congress and AAP was discussed at both the meetings.

'We want to defeat anti-Punjab forces to bring prosperity in the state,' said Mr Chhotepur, who has said that he won't reconcile with AAP.

Dr Gandhi said that he had no plans of leaving AAP but said that he was willing to extend support to all those working sincerely to provide a better alternative to the people of Punjab.

At the launch of his party on Thursday, Mr Sidhu detailed on the failed negotiations with AAP and said chief Arvind Kejriwal only wants "yes men" and said he was running the party like the "East India Company".

Backing Mr Sidhu's allegations, Dr Gandhi today said, "In light of Kejriwal's perspective towards Punjab and other states, and the way political rights of the state are being violated, I don't think it is wrong to compare his functioning with the East India Company."
