Mumbai:

Charging Mumbai attack prime accused Mohammed Ajmal Amir Qasab and two others for the murder of 166 persons during last year's terror attacks, the prosecution on Monday submitted a list of 312 charges it proposes to frame against them in the case.

The list of proposed charges was submitted by Special Public Prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam to the trial court in Mumbai.

Qasab, a Pakistani national, and Faheem Ansari and Sabauddin Ahmed, both Indians, are facing charges under IPC, Arms Act, Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, Explosives Act, Explosives Substances Act, Passport (entry into India) Act, Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act, Railways Act, Customs Act and Foreigners Act.

Under IPC, they face charges of conspiracy, waging war against India, murder, attempt to murder, causing grievous injuries, wrongful confinement and causing mischief by fire.

Qasab and nine others had allegedly gunned down people at important places in the city while Faheem and Sabauddin had drawn maps and given them to LeT conspirators in Pakistan following a conspiracy hatched between December 2007 and November 2008.

Several citizens of the USA, England, Germany, Israel, Canada, Australia, Mauritius, Belgium, Malaysia, Japan, Italy, France, Thailand and Singapore were killed by Qasab and other terrorists during the attack, Nikam said.
