New Delhi: The family of the 20-year-old college student whose murder has outraged Delhi says that a police sketch of the suspect matches the man who stalked her for nearly three years.

Radhika Tanwar was shot on Tuesday on a busy morning outside her college in South Delhi's Dhaula Kuan. For 10 minutes, not one passerby volunteered to take her to hospital.  The man who fired at her managed to run away.

The Delhi Police says that no eyewitness has approached the police - a crucial missing link in its investigation. "A witness could help us fine-tune our information," said HGS Dhaliwal, a senior police officer handling the case. He urged witnesses to share information on what they saw and heard, promising that identities will be kept confidential.

Yesterday, based on conversations with Radhika's family and friends, the police released a sketch of the alleged murderer. Radhika's father is reported to have told the police today that the sketch is an "80% match" of a young man who lives near the Tanwar residence in Naraina and tried for three years to win Radhika's attention.

The family had not filed a complaint against the stalker, but had informally warned him to stay away from Radhika, say sources.

Today, there were many policemen on guard outside the Ram Lal Anand College, where Radhika was a second-year student. She was killed while walking across a pedestrian bridge.
