Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan will depose before the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) today. Rahat along with his manager Maaroof and Shrivastava was detained on February 14 at the Delhi's IGI airport after a huge amount of undeclared foreign currency was found on him.
The Pakistani singer has already met the revenue officials once before and submitted contract papers of his shows.
DRI also conducted searches on the premises of "Eyeline Telefilm and Events" in Mumbai, owned by Chitresh, elder brother of Bollywood singer Aadesh Shrivastava.
Sources privy to the investigations had claimed that the sleuths found Rs 51 lakh in cash which was seized besides some documents. The Income Tax department will also look into the source of the money seized from the firm's premises.
The Directorate will also look into whether the event managers had prior clearance to make such payments in foreign currency.
