Vidarbha: Kicking off his election campaign, Rahul Gandhi has reached Vidarbha in Maharashtra. This is the area that had reported the highest number of farmer suicides in the country.
Wardha is Rahul's first stop as he began his whirlwind election tour of the country.
Rahul Gandhi is among those who had pushed for widening the limits of the UPA government's farm loan waiver to include larger areas of Vidarbha.
After his visit to the region in July, his reference to Kalavati from the area as an example to draw attention to the people had made headlines.
"We take India as a whole and want to keep it united. Our opposition rules by dividing the country," said Rahul Gandhi while slamming BJP.
